Data Catalog Matrices example

This diagram shows an example of multiple matrices. Matrices are used to inform non-ICT stakeholders in a detailed manner.
These matrices are for:

  • Data qualities

  • Data usage

  • Data owners and stewards



Currently only associations at entity level, there are possibilities to create mappings at attribute level but this required a customized extension in the IDEA AddOn.

Data entity usage sample

In this diagram, the ArchiMate data objects are linked to a number of (logical) application functions via an access association. This provides insight into which functions the data object approaches for reading and writing. See the arrowheads of the individual access associations for this.

Data ownership example

In the ownership diagram all associations are shown between business roles and data objects of the type responsible and influence from the RACI matrix
